Barb Suen currently teaches first-year Drawing, second-year Packaging Design, and third-year Portfolio Studies in the Graphic Design program.
Suen has studied internationally at Pratt Institute, New York; the Central Academy of Art and Design in Beijing, China; and taken academic courses at various Canadian universities. She received her undergraduate Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. She also completed a Master of Business Administration degree from Athabasca University via distance education.
Suen enjoys introducing international diversity awareness into her senior classroom assignments. She contributed to the development and installation of the first Macintosh computer labs at Durham College, and was named a fellow to Northern Telecom in 1988 for her implementing technology into her teaching.
