Terry Capar's entire career has been spent in the field of education. After graduating from Cambrian College with a Communications diploma, he took a position with the Renfrew County Board of Education, where he ran the media department, providing photographic services, classroom support, event planning and procured equipment and supplies. Capar also taught in the board's continuous learning department.
In 1978, Capar accepted a position with Durham College's media department. In his 30-year career, he has worked in all three staff cohorts, support, administration and faculty. In 2003, Capar earned his Master's degree in Business Administration from Athabasca University.
