Multimedia Design, a three-year advanced diploma program, provides a challenging, multi-faceted design and technical program of study to equip students with professional skill sets which are highly desired by employers. Program faculty, employers and our advisory board continually evaluate and refine the program curriculum to ensure that it is at current industry standards.
During the course of study, students gain the practical, creative and communication skills necessary to plan, design and construct fully interactive multimedia applications. Course content includes computer hardware and software skills, multimedia presentations, videotape and digital production, digital graphics, sound recording and website development. Training on various computer platforms in use in the marketplace is also provided, since students in the Multimedia Design program participate in the college's mobile learning program. Students may work in a team-based environment to create projects and content collaboratively to produce products that engage the user and communicate information in an effective and interactive manner. Examples of the uses of multimedia products include educational CD-ROMs/DVDs; static and dynamic websites; kiosks; corporate presentations and events; and promotional and training materials.A field placement opportunity is provided in the final term where students practice their skills and receive further on-the-job training with a field placement sponsor.
